METHOD FOR CONVERTING A WEB-FED PRINTING PRESS FROM A RUNNING PRODUCTION OF A FIRST PRINTING PRODUCT TO A SUBSEQUENT PRODUCTION OF A SECOND PRINTING PRODUCT

The invention relates to a method for converting a web-fed printing press from a running production of a first printing product to a subsequent production of a second printing product, wherein the first printing product is produced from a first material web fed into the web-fed printing press and the second printing product from a second material web that is subsequently fed into the web-fed printing press. Said material webs are different in width and/or the material is a different kind and/or has a different grammage. A control unit controlling at least the running production of the first printing product determines the point in time for the connection of the second material web with the first material web. The setting of the point in time is dependant on the respective production data of a printing order, wherein the production data of the control unit is provided. The production data of the control unit is provided by manual input on a terminal connected to said control unit or automatically by a control unit of a production planning system. Furthermore, the cylinders of the web-fed printing machine that executed the production of the first printing product are only stopped when an additional web is to be processed in the production of the second printing product in comparison to the production of the first printing product, and/or the first and the second material web are, after running through the web-fed printing press, processed in a folding apparatus to a sequence of individual copies of the respective printing products. The copies of the individual printing products are held for a while in the folding apparatus in a gap formed by folding jaws, wherein a width set for holding of a copy each of the first printing product of the gap of the folding jaws is set to a width for holding of a copy each of the second printing product automatically by an adjusting device.
