The present invention relates to a method, network, devices and instruction sets for optimizing access technology type for mobile stations (130) in a wireless communication network (100). The network devices (102, 104, 105, 106, 500) are arranged to initiate a secondary packet data protocol (PDP) context if it is determined that another access technology would be more suitable for a specific PDP context, i.e. for a specific application. Infrastructure devices at any suitable level may be involved in sending a trigger command signal to a radio access network for initiating a handover procedure to another access technology.
