A method and system for realizing data synchronization are provided. The method comprises the following steps: after the data synchronization control device triggers a data synchronization request at the server end, judging whether the data synchronization request meets the data synchronization policy saved in the data synchronization control device; if the data synchronization request meets the data synchronization policy, the synchronization control request is generated and transmitted to the data synchronization service functional unit to control the unit to complete the data synchronization with the client end. Adopting the technical solution in the embodiment of the present invention, the data synchronization policy can be set in the application server system, the data synchronization function can be integrated into the application server system and controlling data synchronization by server end can be realized.
