Disclosed is a system which generates the indexing information of multimedia data files using vocal data, includes a vocal data extraction unit, a data conversion unit, an initial data generation unit, an identification code grant unit, a record unit and a storage unit. Search of existing multimedia data files via words or sentence structures (including keyword search) is possible without the processing by the multimedia data file provider, because a separate vocal extraction device extracts vocal text and time-information data, and automatically creates, registers and stores file indexing information. Therefore, it is possible for the user to quickly understand important contents without playing the corresponding multimedia data file during searching in¬ formation. Moreover, this increases the efficiency of information search because the user does not have to read unneeded information.
