PROCESS FOR LOCATING THE ORIGIN OF DISTURBING STATES

In order to locate the origin of disturbing states which affect the accessibility and/or operation of appliances connected to a first network arrangement, in particular household appliances that can be connected to a network, the disturbing states being generated by at least one of the appliances connected to the first network arrangement in question, to which at least one network-interconnecting device is connected which leads to at least one additional network arrangement and in which the addresses of the appliances connected to the first network arrangement are stored once they have been registered with the corresponding network-interconnecting device, states of the appliances connected to the first network arrangement are interrogated in at least one of the network-interconnecting devices by means of an interrogation and storage device (AB, AN, ZU) at fixed points in time, and corresponding interrogation values are stored; when a disturbing state is reported in at least one of said appliances, the interrogation values of the appliances are combined into groups according to settable criteria in an analysis device (AU), and the appliances belonging to the groups are considered as possible interference sources according to a set sequence of groups.
