This invention relates to an injection molded preform comprising:a first layer comprising a thermoplastic polyester; anda second layer comprising an amorphous thermoplastic material;wherein said first layer is thinner in an end cap than in a wall portion and the second layer is thicker in the end cap than in the wall portion, a multi-layer coated polyester article and to a method for making a barrier coated polyester article.
