The invention relates to an opening panel of a motor vehicle (3) serving to close an opening (4) of the roof (1) of the vehicle and provided with an opening mechanism that can be displaced between a closed position and an open position. The opening mechanism comprises: a pair of first interconnected links, one end of each first link being connected in an articulated manner to an end of each longitudinal lateral edge of the opening panel; a pair of second interconnected links (10), one end of each second link serving to be connected in an articulated to the vehicle near a longitudinal lateral edge of the opening panel, every second link being connected in an articulated manner to one of the first links, the axes of articulation (9, 11, 12) of the first and second links extending in the transversal direction of the vehicle, and; guiding means (6, 7) longitudinally displacing the opening panel for guiding it between the open and closed positions.
