The present invention relates to electrocardiogram representing variations of electric potential during transmission of electric signals in the heart, and more particularly, to a single-channel portable wireless electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring apparatus for providing ECG waveform to a clinical specialist by measuring an ECG signal at a desired time via three electrodes making contact with fingers and the chest of a user without using a gel, analyzing and storing the measured ECG signal, and transmitting the stored ECG signal to a computer or a communication terminal. The single-channel portable wireless apparatus include: an ECG sensor unit configured to detect ECG of a user through two electrodes making contact with fingers of the user and an electrode making contact with the chest of the user; an ECG signal detecting unit configured to process a single-channel analog ECG signal detected using the ECG sensor unit; a control unit configured to convert the single-channel analogy ECG signal processed by the ECG signal detecting unit into an digital ECG signal, store the converted digital ECG signal, extract char¬ acteristic points from the ECG signal using a stored analysis program, determine whether the ECG signal is rhythmically irregular, and transmit the ECG signal to an external device; and a display unit configured to display the ECG signal in real time under control of the control unit.
