The invention relates to a disk brake with a caliper (2) which at least partially encloses a brake disk (1) and with an electric motor-actuated or pneumatically actuated application device (5) for displacing at least one brake lining (3, 4) in the direction of the brake disk (2). At least one or more axially displaceable adjusting pistons (7) are supported on one of their ends on an element of the application device and act, on the other axial end, upon the brake lining (3) on the application side via transmitting pieces (8). The entire axial length of the adjusting pistons (7) can be modified in order to compensate wear, especially of the brake lining (3) on the application side.
