The invention relates to a device (1) for signal transmission, particularly in a strongly electromagnetically disturbed environment, wherein the device comprises devices (3, 4, 5, 6) on an input side for converting an analog input signal into an optical pulse-code modulated transmission signal and devices (7, 8a) on an output side for converting the optical transmission signal into an electrical digital signal. The device is characterized in that a device for capturing an analog input signal (2a) and a device for generating an analog electrical signal (2b) are provided upstream of the input side, and that a device for converting the electrical digital signal into an electrical analog signal (8b) and a device for outputting an analog output signal (9) are provided downstream of the output side. The invention further discloses a method that is performed using said device.
