Steganography is used to encode navigation information into a printed image. A data input device(206,506,804) which inputs data to a navigation device includes: an image input unit(207,507,805) capturing an image displayed on an image display carrier for displaying an image; a code extraction unit(208,508,806) extracting a code hidden in the image; and a transmission unit (210, 512, 807) transmitting the code to the navigation device.
