Protective cover of a supporting element of a mattress type, comprising a pocket for containing a radiography cassette, and method of radiography

The cover (1) has a main support element (2) e.g. cushion, and a flexible inner pocket (3) extending below a cover's upper part and containing a radiography cassette (5), where the pocket is in the form of a tubular sheath. The pocket has an opening that permits an introduction of the cassette, and an end that forms an opening opened on and fixed to a lateral edge. A secondary support element (4) has thickness lesser than that of element (2), where the thickness of the element (4) is less than 5 centimeter. The element (4) is inserted between the pocket and the part and covers the pocket. An independent claim is also included for a method of radiographing a part of a body of a patient.
