The present invention relates to α method for transmitting video data over an air interface (50) using CDMA technology. The invention further relates to a method for receiving video data over an air interface (50) using CDMA technology. Said video data comprises basic layer data (10) and enhancement layer data (20). The basic layer data (10) is transmitted and received using a first spreading code (SC1, C1). Said enhancement layer data is transmitted and received using a second spreading code (SC2, C4). The invention also relates to a transmitter for performing the method for transmitting video data over an air interface and a base station comprising said transmitter.
