A system for controlling a 3-phase motor using a single current sensor is provided to reduce a vibration and a noise of the 3-phase motor by decreasing a ripple component, which is generated in the 3-phase motor. A current sensor(510) measures a DC current in an inverter. A current recovery unit(700) recovers a 3-phase current by using an output from the current sensor. A current controller(200) outputs a reference voltage vector according to the 3-phase current and a current instruction from the current recovery unit. A vector regulator(300) compensates for the reference voltage vector from the current controller and changes modulation and compensation sequences for the reference voltage vector. A spatial vector modulator(400) applies a switch pattern to the inverter by using the regulated reference voltage vector.
