Method for Effective Video Data Transmission using Cross-Layer Protocol in Wireless Ad hoc Networks

A method for transmitting video data using a cross-layer protocol in a wireless ad-hoc network is provided to improve a transmission efficiency of the wireless ad-hoc network by adaptively selecting a transmission rate according to transmission path conditions. A source node delivers the amount of remaining energy and channel transmission rate information to neighboring nodes on all paths from the source node to a destination node. The destination node calculates overall transmission cost for the respective paths. An optimal path is selected based on the calculated transmission cost, and the number of packets to be transmitted is determined. A transmission ratio is determined based on the number of packets at a transmission ratio determiner(100).
