VEHICLE EMERGENCY PREVENTIVE TERMINAL DEVICE AND INTERNET SYSTEM USING FACIAL RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY

An apparatus for preventing an emergency by using a face recognition technique and a system thereof are provided to provide an image captured in a car by using wireless internet communication technology, and to make an emergency preventing server notify a driver of position information and images. An apparatus for preventing an emergency by using a face recognition technique comprises a camera(102), a driver registering unit(104), an emergency content manager(106), a vector template acquisition unit(108), a driver authenticating unit(112), a face image reader, an in-car safety state checker, and an emergency content output unit(116). The camera(102) captures an image of a driver's face. The driver registering unit(104) stores and manages a vector template of the driver's face used as an authentication key. The emergency content manager(106) stores and manages emergency alarm content to be outputted in case that there occurs an emergency state in a car. The vector template acquisition unit(108) converts the captured driver's face image into a digital image stream, stores the converted digital image stream at a memory, and generates a vector template of the driver's face in real time by using the face recognition technique. The driver authenticating unit(112) compares the vector template of the initial driver's face, generated by the vector template acquisition unit(108), with that prestored at a memory, checks whether the driver is registered, and determines that an unauthenticated person tries to rob the car if the unauthenticated person tries to drive the car. The face image reader generates a vector template of the driver's face from the digital image stream stored at the memory by using the face recognition technique. The in-car safety state checker compares the vector template of the driver's face, generated in real time by the vector template acquisition unit(108), with that stored at the memory and continues to monitor a safety state of the driver in a car. The emergency content output unit(116) outputs content for a robbery alarm or an emergency state if the driver authenticating unit(112) or the in-car safety state checker recognizes that there occurs a robbery danger or an emergency in a car.
