HIGH VISCOSITY AND DURABILITY ASPHALT MODIFIER AND MIXTURES USING THE MODIFIER

A modifier for modified asphalt and the asphalt modified with the modifier are provided to improve viscosity, durability, scattering resistance, sintering deformation resistance, crack resistance, weather resistance, peeling resistance, stiffness and strength. A modifier for modified asphalt is prepared by weighing the amount of a modifier to the total weight of aspha injecting the weighted asphalt into a metal container; heating the metal container to 175-185 deg.C; and slowly adding a waste tire powder (CRM 3-20 %) and high density polyethylene (2-10 %) to the metal container and mixing them with a mixer. A modified asphalt comprises 4.9 parts by weight of the modifier; and 100 parts by weight of an aggregate mixture for surface which comprises 49 wt% of coarse aggregate having a maximum size of 13 mm, 47 wt% of fine aggregate, and 4 wt% of a filler.
