A ENGINE STRUCTURE OF PROJECTION TELEVISION HAVING LCOS PANEL

An engine structure of a projection television having an LCOS(Liquid Crystal On Silicon) panel is provided to prevent optical parts formed of an organic material from being damaged by blocking out UV rays included in light emitted from a light source. A filter(22) blocks out UV rays included in light emitted from a light source(21). An incidence optical system(23) adjusts the focus of the light passing through the filter. A light pipe makes the uniform light which is inputted through the incidence optical system. A color wheel(24) adds color light to the light passing through the light pipe. An exit optical system(25) guides the light passing through the color wheel. A PBS(Polarized Beam Splitter)(26) sends the light passing through the exit optical system to an LCOS panel(27) and reflects the light reflected from the LCOS panel to a projection optical system.
