A method and apparatus of PABX capacity expansion using Fast Ethernet

A capacity expansion device of a PBX(Private Branch Exchange) using fast Ethernet and a method thereof are provided to enable one switch equipped in a central control node to process all switching actions without installing switches in individual subscriber nodes, thus the switching actions are simplified. Subscriber boards(50) process call and communication services in connection with subscribers' terminals. M connected subscriber nodes(100) process N capacities consisting of control boards(60) for controlling the subscriber boards. A central control node(200) is connected to the M subscriber nodes through fast Ethernet, and switches/controls overall received voice and data as controlling the M subscriber nodes.
