ROOT HARE-SPECIFIC REGULATORY CIS-ELEMENTS AND A METHODOLOGY FOR IMPROVING ROOT PROPERTIES USING THE ELEMENTS

A root hair-specific cis-element is provided to allow the physiological function study of various genes to be very easily and rapidly done through the root hair specific expression thereof, thereby being used for producing useful materials from various plants, improving the function of plant root and obtaining a plant and plant roots containing new functional materials. A root hair-specific cis-element common to an angiosperm consists of a left side portion(LP) sequence consisting of 6 bases, a right side portion(RP) sequence consisting of 8 bases, and a linker sequence linking the LP sequence to the RP sequence and consisting of 2-3 bases and is characterized in that the 5th base of the LP sequence is T, and the 3rd to 6th bases of the RP sequence is CACG. A plasmid for transforming a plant comprises the root hair-specific cis-element.
