A hybrid diffusion plate, a back-light assembly having the hybrid diffusion plate, and a liquid crystal display having the back-light assembly are provided to effectively suppress transmission of heat from a lamp to a liquid crystal panel by forming an insulation layer with low heat conductivity in the hybrid diffusion plate. A hybrid diffusion plate(142) includes a plurality of sub diffusion plates(210,212) and an insulation layer(230). The plurality of sub diffusion plates arranged to face each other and diffuses light. The insulation layer is interposed between the sub diffusion plates and has heat conductivity lower than the sub diffusion plate. The insulation layer has refractive index lower than the sub diffusion plate. The insulation layer has an air layer. The two sub diffusion plates are bonded to each other by a sealant(220).
