METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR TRANSMITTING/RECEIVING FEEDBACK INFORMATION OF CHANNEL QUALITY IN MIMO-OFDM SYSTEM

A method and an apparatus for transmitting and receiving feedback information corresponding to a channel quality in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system for a multi-input/multi-output are provided to achieve a signal to interference and noise ratio to be flat to reduce a feedback overhead. An apparatus for transmitting and receiving feedback information corresponding to a channel quality in an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing system for a multi-input/multi-output includes a channel quality measuring unit(310) measuring channel quality indicating values of signals transmitting through a transmitter by using a plurality of subbands and a plurality of transmission antennas. A feedback information generating unit(312) determines at least one subband group having a highest transmission performance of the subbands and at least one precoding matrix corresponding to the subband groups. The feedback information generating unit creates feedback information corresponding to a channel quality indicating value based on a subband of the determined subband groups and the determined precoding matrix to feedback to the transmitter.
