THE THERAPEUTIC EFFECTS IN BRONCHIAL ASTHMA

A therapeutic agent of bronchial asthma comprising 2-methoxyestradiol(2ME2) capable of inhibiting expression of hypoxia-inducible factor-1alpha(HIF-1alpha) is provided to inhibit increased vascular permeability, inflammation response and airway hyperresponsiveness by inhibiting increased VEGF(vascular endothelial growth factor) concentration in bronchial asthma. A therapeutic agent of bronchial asthma comprises 2-methoxyestradiol(2ME2) as an effective ingredient. A method for treating bronchial asthma comprises the steps of: preparing the therapeutic agent of bronchial asthma comprising 2-methoxyestradiol; and orally administering 50-100 mg/kg of the therapeutic agent into a patient of bronchial asthma in 5-10 times at an interval of 24 hours.
