A cellulose ester film containing a polyester represented by the following general formula (1) or (2), characterized in that the in-plane retardation (Ro) and the thickness-direction retardation (Rt) as measured at ordinary temperature and ordinary humidity (23‹C, 55% RH) are 0 to 5 nm and-20 to 10 nm, respectively.
