DEVELOPMENT OF ORIENTAL MEDICINE DIAGNOSIS METHODS USING BLOOD PROTEIN BIOMARKERS

The blood protein biomarkers are provided to decide the Oriental medicine diagnosis objectively, reduce the medical expenses and shorten the disease period by applying the biomarkers to the strength and weakness decision algorithm. A screening method of the blood protein biomarkers for deciding the strength and weakness comprises the steps of: (1) deciding a group of testing subjects as the strength and weakness according to the Oriental medicine method; (2) isolating the blood plasma of the testing subjects and analyzing the expression pattern of the isolated plasma proteins by using a protein chip analysis, MALDI-TOF(matrix assisted laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry) analysis, SELDI-TOF(surface enhanced laser desorption/ionization time of flight mass spectrometry) analysis, two-dimensional electrophoresis analysis, liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry(LC-MS), Western blotting or ELISA(Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay); (3) analyzing the relationship between the protein expression pattern and the strength and weakness by using a software selected from SAS(Strategic Application Software), SPSS(Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) and biomarker pattern software; and (4) selecting proteins showing significant changes of expression patterns according to the strength and weakness.
