A method for preparing crosslinked vinyl polymer particles having a uniform particle size distribution through an improved seed polymerization process is provided to avoid a need for a swelling step and the use of an additional swelling aid, thereby simplifying the overall process. A method for preparing crosslinked vinyl polymer particles having a uniform particle size distribution comprises a step of dispersing 4-20 parts by weight of seed particles into a homogeneous solution containing 100 parts by weight of an unsaturated vinyl monomer, 1-100 parts by weight of a crosslinking agent, 0.06-60 parts by weight of a dispersion stabilizer and 0.01-10 parts by weight of a polymerization initiator into 20-2,000 parts by weight of water as a dispersion medium, followed by carrying out polymerization at 60-90 deg.C for 12-48 hours.
