A reception-dedicated mobile terminal for sending a short message and a short message sending method using the same are provided to send only messages stored in a mobile terminal of a user after being created in a computer or a different mobile terminal. An input unit(102) includes one or more keys and generates an input signal according to user selection of a shortcut key. A storage unit(108) stores a phone number corresponding to the shortcut key and a short message corresponding to the phone number. A controller(106) reads the phone number corresponding to the shortcut key and the short message from the storage unit according to the input signal, and generates a signal for transmitting the phone number and the short message. The selection of the shortcut key is made as the user presses a particular key button. The selection of the shortcut key is made as the user contacts a particular region corresponding to the shortcut key on a touch pad.
