A method and an apparatus for adjusting trip set values of a digital reactor protection system using a programmable logic controller are provided to minimize an error of increment and decrement determination when process values are irregularly increased and reduced due to external noise by adjusting a trip setting device through a required increment and decrement quantity and a permitted increment and decrement quantity per a unit process scan time. A digital reactor protection system includes four channels(200) with an independently operating redundancy structure. Each of the channels includes a first group and a second group. The first group includes a first BP(Bistable Processor)(201a) of dual BPs and a first CP(Coincidence Processor)(202a) of dual CPs. The second group includes a second BP(201b) of the dual BPs and a second CP(202b) of the dual CPs. The first and second BPs generate trip signals by comparing process values representing states of reactor systems with trip set values. The first and second CPs generate final trip signals by performing 2/4 logic combination of the trip signals outputted from the BPs. The first and second BPs variably control the trip set values corresponding to the reactor systems according to the process values.
