A method and a system for providing application information of a broadcasting data service in a DVB(Digital Video Broadcasting)-H(Handheld) system are provided to satisfy the desire of a broadcasting service enterpriser for offering various types of data services. A broadcasting service providing server(110) transmits an acquirement fragment of the ESG(Electronic Service Guide) including at least one between application kind information and application execution information. A broadcasting receiving terminal(120) receives the ESG and confirms the application kind information and application execution information included into the acquirement fragment when providing a broadcasting data service. The application kind information is included into an application information element including an application information type in a file download component type of the acquirement fragment. The application type values are included into the application information elements by classification schemes. The classification schemes relate to the application types having ID values corresponding to at least one application information.
