A method and a device for preventing omitting and overlapping a schedule owing to time change are provided to manage the schedules overlapped or omitted when a standard time of a portable terminal is changed by a changed local time, and process the schedules according to the changed standard time. A memory(240) stores information related to schedules. A CPU(200) changes a standard time of a portable terminal by receiving a changed local time when the local time is changed, and determines execution of the schedule stored in the memory by recognizing the changed standard time. The CPU includes a DM(Device Management) enabler client(220) communicating with an external server. A baseband signal processor(270) processes a voice or data signal, and an RF(Radio Frequency)(250) converts a received RF signal into a baseband signal. An UI(User Interface) device(260) is for interface with a user, and an SIM card(280) stores user information.
