An OCHM(Orthogonal Code Hopping Multiplexing) system employing a switched beam array antenna is provided to reduce the complexity of system by obtaining a high channel code/decode gain according to the reduction of perforation. A transmitter includes a hopping pattern generator(540), an orthogonal code generator(146), a scrambling unit, and a switched beam array antenna. The hopping pattern generator generates orthogonal code hopping patterns corresponding to forward link communication channels to respective second communication stations. The orthogonal code generator generates orthogonal codes to be allocated to respective symbol intervals of the orthogonal code hopping patterns. The scrambling unit generates transmission signals by spreading transmission symbols using the generated orthogonal codes. The switched beam array antenna generates fixed weight vectors corresponding to the forward link communication channels to the respective second communication stations, and transmits the transmission signals that transmission coefficients are set by the fixed weight vectors to the respective second communication stations through plural switched beam array antenna.
