A thickener (A) for thermoplastic polyester resins which is obtained by polymerizing (a) 70 to 95wt% of an aromatic vinyl monomer, (b) 5 to 30wt% of alkyl acrylate wherein the alkyl has 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and (c) 0 to 10wt% of other vinyl monomer copolymerizable with both; a thickener (A') for thermoplastic polyester resins, characterized by being produced by covering 100 parts by weight of polymer particles (A-1) which are obtained by polymerizing (a) 70 to 95wt% of an aromatic vinyl monomer, (b) 5 to 30wt% of alkyl acrylate wherein the alkyl has 1 to 8 carbon atoms, and (c) 0 to 10wt% of other vinyl monomer copolymerizable with both and which have a glass transition temperature of 60°C or above and a volume-mean particle diameter of 50 to 500mum with 0.5 to 30 parts by weight of polymer particles (A-2) having a volume-mean particle diameter of 0.01 to 0.5mum; thermoplastic polyester resin compositions containing the thickeners; and moldings of the compositions.
