A method and an apparatus for registering identification information of a terminal device for securing files and a method for securing files by using identification information of a terminal device are provided to register identification information of a terminal device selectively in a storage unit to maintain security of files by using the identification information. An ID and a password of a user are inputted(210). It is authenticated whether the user has authority to register first identification information corresponding to identification information of a terminal device in a storage unit storing a file based on the ID and password of the user(220). When the user has the authority, second identification information corresponding to identification information of the terminal device is received(230) and it is determined whether the second identification information is registered in the ID of the user(240). The first identification information is selectively registered in the storage unit based on the determination result(270).
