A pneumatic radial tire having a water-splash control rib is provided to prevent rainwater being collected in a hollow from being splashed upward through forming the water-splash control rib along a side wall of the tire. A pneumatic radial tire(1) having a water-splash control rib(5) comprises a side wall(4) and a tread(2). The pneumatic radial tire is applicable to tires on passenger vehicles, SUVs, and light-weight trucks. The water-splash control rib is formed along the edge of the side wall at a position spaced apart by h from the end point of tire diameter(OD) in a way to satisfy the following condition, 10mm=h=100mm. The pneumatic radial tire satisfies the following condition, 5mm=W=60mm, wherein W is the width of the water-splash control rib.
