A THERMAL SPRAYING METHOD FOR COATING A PISTON RING GROOVE, USE OF A SPRAY WIRE AND A PISTON WITH A THERMAL SPRAY LAYER

A thermal spraying method for coating piston ring grooves, a use of a spray wire, and a piston with a thermal spray layer are provided to prevent early corrosion and protect an engine from damage by coating piston ring grooves with thermal spraying layers. A thermal spraying method for coating ring grooves(2) of a piston(1) comprises the steps of: bordering the ring grooves by first side surfaces(21) which are near to a combustion space, second side surfaces(22) which are separated from the combustion space, and rear surfaces(23) which are extended to a circumferential direction in the piston jacket to receive and guide piston rings(3) in the piston ring grooves; and forming thermal spraying layers(4) on the first and/or second side surfaces through the heat wire spraying process.
