A system and a method for providing a location-based group call service in a mobile communication network and a mobile terminal for the same are provided to enable a user to execute a group call for specific subscribers only by selecting desired subscribers and a specific area and extracting the specific subscribers in the specific area. A system for providing a location-based group call service in a mobile communication network comprises a group information management server(16), a group call control server(20), and a location information management server(22). The group information management server(16) manages call groups for each mobile subscriber, and provides call group information to a mobile terminal which requests a group call. If the mobile terminal selects a call group, desired subscribers for a group call, and a specific area, the group call control server(20) inquires whether the selected subscribers are located in the specific area, and executes control for a group call with the specific subscribers who exist in the specific area. The location information management server(22) confirms whether the selected subscribers are located in the specific area, and provides a confirmed result to the group call control server(20).
