An external skin composition comprising medicinal herbs is provided to inhibit growth of bacteria and fungi, inflammation and oxidation in the skin without side effects, so that the composition is useful for improvement of pimpled skin. An external skin composition for improvement of pimpled skin comprises 1-10 wt.% of Iris germanica extract, 1-20 wt.% of Centella asiatica Urbain extract, 1-10 wt.% of Matricaria chamomilia extract, 1-10 wt.% of Oenothera odorata Jacq. extract and 1-10 wt.% of Houttuynia cordata Thunb. extract which are prepared by extracting the medicinal herbs with water, C1-C4 lower alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof, hexane, butylene glycol, propylene glycol or glycerin, and is formulated as skin lotion, skin softener, skin toner, astringent, lotion, milk lotion, moisture lotion, nutrition lotion, massage cream, nutrition cream, moisture cream, hand cream, foundation, essence, nutrition essence, pack, soap, cleansing foam, cleansing lotion, cleansing cream, body lotion or body cleanser.
