PURPOSE: A manufacturing method of sea-island type composite fiber having excellent raising property, texture and appearance is characterized by improving section forming property and round shape forming property, increasing workability and preventing tangling. CONSTITUTION: Sea-island type composite fiber is obtained by using alkali dissolved copolymerized polyester as a sea ingredient and polyester as an island ingredient. A main repeating unit of the polyester is polyethylene terephthalate. Zero shear viscosity(285deg.C) of the sea ingredient is 700-1700poise. Zero shear viscosity(285deg.C) of the island ingredient is 1200-2400poise. Difference(280deg.C) of the zero shear viscosities of the sea ingredient and the island ingredient is 500-1200poise. The zero shear viscosity(285deg.C) of the island ingredient the zero shear viscosity(285deg.C) of the sea ingredient.
