A method, an apparatus and a system for preventing illegal usage of a zone based service by using power monitoring are provided to prevent a service zone from being substantially expanded according as a zone setting unit for setting a service zone through local area wireless communication is illegally moved. A mobile communication network(130) provides a mobile communication service including a zone based service. A zone setting unit(120) setting a service zone of the zone based service by transmitting a local area wireless communication signal including a serial number of a device. A mobile communication terminal(110) transmits an authentication request signal, including the serial number and an MDN(Mobile Directory Number), by using the mobile communication network when receiving the local area wireless communication signal from the zone setting unit, and receives the zone based service if the authentication is successful. A service server(140) performs the authentication by using the serial number and the MDN when receiving the authentication request signal from the mobile communication terminal.
