An extract of Undaria pinnatifida having anti-inflammatory activity

An extract of Undaria pinnatifida is provided to inhibit and decrease edema, promote the removal of hyperemia, exhibit pain alleviating and fever alleviating effects, thereby being widely used as a spray formulation, a tissue formulation and an ointment for preventing and treating various inflammatory diseases and edema and hyperemia caused by allergy. An extract of Undaria pinnatifida is obtained by extracting Undaria pinnatifida or Undaria pinnatifida powder with one or at least two solvents selected from the group consisting of methanol, ethanol, acetonitrile, benzene, chloroform, methylene chloride, acetone, cyclohexane, ethylacetate and ether, filtering and concentrating the obtained extract original solution. The extract of Undaria pinnatifida is used for preventing and treating edema, hyperemia, pain and high fever.
