An astringent cosmetic composition comprising an extract of herbs is provided to be able to inhibit the excessive secretion of sebum by pore contraction and show the excellent skin elasticity increasing effect. A cosmetic composition comprises 0.5-5 wt.% of an extract of Uncaria Gambir Roxburgh, Cinnamomum zeylanicum Nees, Sanguisorba officinalis Linne, Nelumbo nucifera Gaertner, and Pelargonium graveolens with astringent effect as an effective ingredient, where the extract is prepared by using at least one solvent selected from the group consisting of water, C1-4 lower alcohol, butylene glycol, propylene glycol, hydrous ethanol, hydrous propylene glycol, and hydrous butylene glycol.
