A method for setting length and angle of a linkage of a swirl control actuator of a diesel engine and a system thereof is provided to improve efficiency of the diesel engine and to reduce initial load by minimizing difference between first opening angle and second opening angle of bars. A method for setting length and angle of a linkage of a swirl control actuator of a diesel engine comprises the steps: setting an initial length and angle of the linkage by using mechanical calculation(S100); recording initial location of all bars of the linkage which is corresponding to the length and angle of the linkage(S110); sensing locations of all bars of the linkage by driving the linkage(S120); calculating a first and a second opening angle for each of locations of the bars(S130); calculating difference between the first opening angle and the second opening angle(S140); and compensating an error for length and the angle of the linkage by using difference of the first and the second opening angle(S150).
