Method and apparatus for multimedia messaging service using Parlay X Web service

A method and a device for providing an MMS by using a Parlay-X web service are provided to enable an MMS application server, which provides the MMS by using a Parlay-X web service, to efficiently check a delivery state of the MMS without resource waste or load between the application server and a Parlay-X gateway. An open API(Application Program Interface) processor(21) receives the MMS to be transferred and an active/inactive request of a delivery state informing function from the application server, and transfers a processing result to the application server. An MM7 protocol processor(24) transfers a MMS delivery request of the application server and receives the processing result by exchanging a message with an MMS server. A multimedia service controller(22) sets the delivery state informing function to an active/inactive state by each application server in case that the message received through the open API processor is the active/inactive request, and transfers the MMS to the MM7 protocol processor in the case of the MMS. A storing part(23) stores the active/inactive information, and each variable and ID needed for processing the MMS.
