OPERATING MOTHED OF ACTIVITED SLUDGE FOR CUT DOWN ON EXPENSES

A method for operating activated sludge in a sewage and wastewater treatment apparatus is provided to reduce the maintenance cost of activated sludge treatment facilities, by regulating the DO concentration according to bio-adsorption of extra sludge and variation of input amount. Sewage and wastewater are passed through a first precipitation bath through an input bath, passed through a second precipitation bath through an aeration bath, and dehydrated through an enrichment bath. A portion of extra sludge, which moves to a dehydrator from the enrichment bath, is inputted into an input part of the input bath, thereby reducing the contamination load of input water. A DO concentration within the aeration bath is set to the minimum value of 0.8-1.6 mg/l. A rotational frequency of a ventilator is regulated by a DOIC and an inverter(102). The DO concentration is differently set according to variation of input amount of the sewage and the wastewater.
