CATALYST COMPOSITION FOR HYDROPHILIC MONOMER SYNTHESIS AND PREPARATION METHOD OF HYDROPHILIC MONOMER USING THE SAME

A method for preparing hydrophilic monomers is provided to produce the hydrophilic monomers easily without processing an ester reaction, by adding methacrylate and derivative of the methacrylate into an oxide derivative in the presence of a catalyst composition. Hydrophilic monomers are prepared by directly mixing methacrylate and derivative of the methacrylate into an oxide derivative, then inducing a reaction of the mixed materials, in the presence of a catalyst composition. The catalyst composition comprises alcohol-based solvent, a metal compound including one or more selected from a group consisting of alkaline metals, alkaline earth metals, and transition metals, and a pH adjuster. The catalyst composition has a content of 0.1-5 wt% based on weight of the produced hydrophilic monomers. The reaction of the mixed material is performed at a temperature of 40-160‹C.
