A composition and a fiber treated with the composition are provided to achieve effective antimicrobial treatment of the fiber, by preparing the composition such that the composition contains silver nanoparticles and saponin. A composition for antimicrobial treatment of a fiber comprises silver nanoparticles and saponin. The silver nanoparticles have an average particle size of 1-100 nm. The silver nanoparticles are obtained from a colloid solution of silver nanoparticles. The colloid solution of silver nanoparticles has a silver nanoparticle-concentration of 10,000-500,000 ppm. Further, the fiber is used for sports, cloth, bed or footwear.
