METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR BITMAP-BASED SPATIAL INDEX ON WIRELESS BROADCAST ENVIRONMENTS AND RECORDING MEDIUM THEREOF

A method and a system for a bitmap-based spatial index in a wireless broadcasting environment and a recording medium thereof are provided to decrease power consumption of a mobile client by decreasing an access time and a tuning time in the wireless broadcasting environment. A server includes a bitmap generator(411), a bitmap-based index generator(412), and a transmitter(413). The bitmap generator arranges multidimensional object information into one dimensional bitmap by using a Hilbert curve. The bitmap-based index generator combines the bitmap with a predetermined index. The transmitter broadcasts the combined index. A mobile client includes a query calculator(421) and a bitmap-based receiver(422). The query calculator calculates values of the Hilbert curve which is included in a spatial query range. The bitmap-based receiver detects position of the data corresponding to the calculated Hilbert curve from the bitmap and receives the data according to the detected position.
