An optical fiber for a WDM(Wavelength Division Multiplexing) optical transmission system, an optical transmission line and an optical communication system using the same are provided to restrain a bending loss in an L-band and a U-band, and provide an optimized optical fiber that satisfies G.655.B and G.656, namely, the standards of ITU-T(International Telecommunication Union-Telecommunication standardization sector). A single mode optical fiber includes a core region and a clad region surrounding the core region. The core region includes the first core region positioned at an optical central axis and having a radius of r1 from the optical central axis and a refractive index contrast of Delta1 having Delta1a and Delta1b, the second core region surrounding the first core region and having a radius of r2 from the optical central axis and a refractive index contrast of Delta2, and the third core region surrounding the second core region and having a radius of r3 from the optical central axis and a refractive index contrast of Delta3. The radiuses of the first to third core regions satisfy the relationship of r1=Delta1bDelta2, Delta2=Delta1bDelta3.
