A system and a method for backing up/recovering/managing an OS(Operating System) and backing up/recovering/updating/installing/executing a game by using a server system in a multi user environment are provided to reduce network traffic, and shortening time for installing/recovering/updating the game by installing/ recovering/updating the game through connecting to a backup/recovery server, thereby minimizing a business loss of a businessman operating a plurality of user computers. A backup/recovery server stores a game program, a game table, and an information table of files forming the game program. A plurality of user computers are equipped with a backup/recovery agent including a game adding module(207), a backup managing module(203) updating the game program stored in the backup/recovery server, and a recovery managing module(205) copying the game program from the backup/recovery. The game adding module stores the game program installed in the user computer to the backup/recovery server by user input, stores a game folder name, size, and latest modification date of the files forming the game program to the game file table, and stores the size and the latest modification date of the game program to the game table.
