A multi-port memory device having an access authority register logic and a control method thereof are provided to control stably the access authority of plural processors to access a memory by installing the access authority register logic which controls the access authority in the multi-port memory device. A multi-port memory device includes at least one shared storage area(202) and an access authority register logic(240). A plurality of processors have access to the at least one shared storage area through each port. The access authority register logic controls access authority that the processors have access to the shared storage area through the each port. At least one dedicated storage area is additionally included in the multi-port memory device and is accessible from only a specific port.
